Mitra Artha is a growing private sector bank in Indonesia organized and incorporated in accordance with the provisions of the Banking Act of the Republic of Indonesia for the purposes of delivering a much-needed specialized banking service to rural communities all over Indonesia.

Our Story
Mitra Artha was born from one simple idea: empowerment for local laborers. The idea emerged from a concern for farmers all over Indonesia who face ongoing finance-related issues. Indonesian farmers make up a significant 45% of total workers in the country. Seen from an agricultural standpoint, these farmers make a significant contribution to the economy and people. Yet from a financial standpoint, they were losing and being neglected. Many factors—seasons, regulations, and management systems—are beyond their control. The ongoing problem was evident and a solution imperative.

Accordant with its role as a reliable banking institution, Mirta Artha is committed to being lifelong partners to communities in low-income and rural areas of Indonesia and beyond through understanding their needs and providing innovative banking products in order to bring long-term impact and sustainability.

Legal Existence and Protection
As a Rural Bank, Mitra Artha is recognized by and inextricably bound to the banking laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Issued by Bank Indonesia, the Act of the Republic of Indonesia No. 7 of 1992 Concerning Banking as Amended by Act No. 10 of 1998 considers:

Mitra Artha adalah sebuah bank swasta di Indonesia yang diselenggarakan dan didirikan sesuai dengan ketentuan Undang-Undang Perbankan Republik Indonesia dengan tujuan untuk memberikan layanan perbankan khusus yang dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat pedesaan di seluruh Indonesia.

Mitra Artha lahir dari satu ide sederhana: sebuah bank lokal yang melayani masyarakat setempat. Idenya muncul dari keprihatinan terhadap petani di seluruh Indonesia yang menghadapi masalah-masalah keuangan. Jumlah petani mencapai 45% dari total angkatan kerja di seluruh Indonesia. Dilihat dari sudut pandang pertanian, para petani memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap perekonomian dan masyarakat. Namun dari sudut pandang keuangan, mereka kehilangan dan diabaikan.
